Finally on the way to the flightline!
Mount up we're heading out. As we got ready to go our person in charge came in and I could tell by the look on her face that the news was not good. She called out a list of names to come foward. Of course mine was one of them. She said that we were bumped from the flight because the Air Force had some of there own people that needed our seats. Needless to say we got to stay around for another 8 hours.
Another day of holding....
Rank has its privileges, just not my rank. I found out later that Commander had bedding, carpet, and a closet. I think I even saw a maid go in there in the AM.

Here is a pic of my room. The good news was we now had a mattress and not a cot. The even better news was that our bags were already on the palette and we would not have access to them. Perfect! The dentist was stuck without a toothbrush. Yes I got the top bunk! Not by choice. It left about 8 inches of space between my face and the tent.
Our plane was supposed to leave, then a sandstorm came and we were stuck. They kept telling us we'll try to fly later and later until eventually they had to provide a room for us since we could not go back to our last stop.
I got caught. I was listening to my Ipod with my neck gator pulled over my face to keep warm. The concrete was pretty hard and cold.
